This is a fidget spinner that you can both roll and turn with your hand as well as roll between your fingers. It's fun! It's just shy of 3" diameter when spinning, takes a 608 bearing, and uses 9/16" individual ball bearings as counterweights. You can spin it in your fingers, but don't let that hamper your creativity -- my toddler likes to use it as a top!
I wanted a spinner that I could roll between my fingers, so I started with pads that form a sphere, and then modeled a spinner around the pads that would preserve the entire sphere as much as possible.
Too small in diameter and you lose angular momentum and the feedback you get when you roll it. Too large and it'll bump your hand. This is a good balance between range of 'rolling between your fingers' and amount of angular momentum.
I've also uploaded a version of the body without the cutouts for the bearing balls -- if you'd like to try it without using the balls as counterweights, download this one!
