This model depicts a Roman soldier at the beginning of the 1st century AD. His common military equipment consists of a Coolus Type C helmet, a long Lorica Hamata (chain mail armor), dual cingulum (military belts) - one to support the mainz type gladius (sword) on his right side (normal location for the common legionary soldier), and the other to support the smaller pugio (dagger) on his left side (also the normal location for a common soldier), two pila (spears), a stage 3 scutum (shield with rounded sides, squared top and bottom and round center boss), standard military caligae (boots) on his feet and the standard dull red woolen tunic. PLEASE NOTE: This reissued diorama now utilizes a modified roman soldier based on several models by Maotri, the soldier's head sculpt is by Dameous, the shield is based in part on the excellent 1st century AD shield by FullOfIt, and the roman road is courtesy of The Emperors Champion #ancient_weapons #Armor #arms #army #belt #boot #caligae #chain_mail #cimgulum #dagger #empire #gladius #Legion #legionary #Legionary_armor #lorica #lorica_hamata #mainz #military #pila #pilum #pugio #road #Roman #Roman_Army #roman_empire #roman_road #Rome #soldier #spear #sword #war #warrior #weapon
