The Industrial Chalet

Inspired by a 'mountain architecture vernacular' Composed of dark woods and weathered corrugated GSM, this mountain chalet further explores the industrial structure aesthetic. Steep standing seam gable roofs, exposed flues and large timbers. The chalet focuses on a massive three floor rough concrete fireplace structure, perfect for those cold snowy nights. The front elevation (seen above) includes copious glass and wood, nano-style type folding doors, bay windows and a shed dormer. The rear elevation is a series of random cascading roof types reminiscent of industrial structures where function overrides any concerns about form. Envisioned as a short-term distant hedonistic getaway for large groups / families. Site contains numerous nearby hiking, swimming and wildlife viewing opportunities (included in model!). Spaces for gathering / eating are large while storage / secondary spaces tend to be smaller. Please use the scene tabs in the provided sequence - they present a guided virtual tour of the site, structure and adjacent 'amenities' The First floor contains a large open Great Room with 10ft ceilings and prominent fireplace & stairs at one end. A medium sized kitchen with concrete counters & waterfall style island, small powder room and coat rack nook are also provided. The Second floor features a large bunk-bed room with prominent fireplace, two smaller private rooms, bathroom and storage closets. Finally, the third floor is reserved for the large Master Suite with fireplace. A sitting area with expansive views and a reading nook with custom casework is included as well. Adjacent is a large master bath with high vaulted ceilings and views overlooking the forest. Over the years I have collected lots of background entourage so I simply don't know all the names of the people whose models I used here (and there are many: trees, firewood, appliances, fixtures and handles, etc - thank you!). Credits to known authors to be provided soon... Over the past year or so a few people have reached out to ask me about using my model(s) for rendering & animation in their portfolio - Yes, I want you to use the models! Just please send me some pictures or a link to your work - that is all I ask! Ive seen some absolutely amazing work and its really fun to see what people can do. #architecture #beach #boulders #cabin #chalet #detailed #fireplace #full_interior #lake #lodge #Mountains #trees #waterfall #wildlife
