***Update: Ok, I'm working harder not smarter here.... Sorry for anyone that has been attempting to use this duct/mount. I finally grew a brain and measured the standoffs that originally mounted the BLTOUCH to the machine. My standoffs came out to about 9.85mm. So I have altered the BLTOUCH mount to match that z height (off by 3mm :(). Sorry for all the wasted plastic everyone. This should be correct now, and I'm a doofus. Ver 5 is attached.
***NOTE (see above): For me the BLTOUCH attachment was too long it put the pin in contact with my prints occasionally so I have remixed the holder to be about 1mm shorter this is Ver4.
This is my first attempt at a remix. I remixed the "Fan holder/Fan duct/Led holder/Bltouch holder all in one" from handimen: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2447676
The quest for a better fan duct for the LM is a very real thing. Handiemen's duct seemed like everything I needed; however, it was for a regular E3D V6 and he had flipped the effector plate to make it fit. I needed the main features of his duct. The directed air via the new ducting and a way to stubbornly hang on to the BLTouch. I downloaded Handiemen's model and started downloading CAD programs. Meshmixer wasn't strong enough, Fusion 360 frustrated me for two days, and then I found Tinkercad! I tried the goofy "getting started" activities and thought the program was just too simple to do what I wanted. Back to Fusion 360, YouTube, and another day's worth of frustration.
Finally I loaded Tinkercad again, and proceeded to beat the hell out of Handimen's model for the better part of a day. I messed up and restarted at least 3 times, but finally the program started to make sense to me. All I was trying to do was move the 30mm fan mount to the top of the model, sounds simple, but it took me all day. Needless to say I cut and cobbled the model to death and finally wound up with what I was looking for.
I printed the model in PLA (.6mm nozzle on the CR-10) with supports to test it, but I would recommend at least PETG or ABS to make the duct more survivable. I tried the PLA version on the LIttle monster and immediately regretted not editing the nozzles as they stuck down so far that they scraped the model off the print surface... so back to Tinkercad. I edited the hotend cooling fan to be in the original position set out by the oem metal fan duct, and then borrowed Redemptioner's blunt nose fan duct idea and now we have in essence the 3rd version of this duct. I reprinted the duct in cheap ABS, yep pink/purple, it's what I had!!!
I am including the stl and obj files from Tinkercad. anyone feel free to clean this model up and make it prettier!!!
