This is a Tesla Model S & Model X jack pad. It has cavities for captured magnets, but they are not required. This is still usable without magnets in it.
I used these magnets:
N35 Strong Round Disc Ring Magnet Rare Earth Neodymium 20mm x 10mm
You'll need 2 per jack pad.
I recommend printing with 100% infill, as you'll need a lot of compression protection when jacking up a 5000lb car. I would not use PLA. PETG or ABS would be your best bet, probably acrylic as well. I haven't tried making a set of these out of TPU, but it might actually work very well... if anyone makes a TPU set, please let me know!
You have to insert the magnets while it's printing after the cavity is printed, but before the 1st layer of the cavity starts... so either pause your printer at the proper layer or be quick like a bunny and drop them in the hole at the right time. Be sure you aren't using a steel or otherwise magnet type heat block or nozzle. You must be using a non-magnetic nozzle, such as a brass nozzle.
I'm including the Inventor file if anyone wants to remix or modify this. Please share any modifications you make!
