Obviously not a true submarine as there is nothing to submerge in, in space. Instead it relies on stealthy shape, radar abosbing surfaces to remain hidden in space. HMS Terrapin is buttoned up for stealth while HMS Tiptoe has sensor mast out and guns exposed. #space_submarine_Piers_Anthony
