Swimming Pool with light refraction

This swimming pool includes an attempt to mimic light refraction from poolwater. Click on the 2 scenes ('empty' or 'with water') to watch a near realistic refraction effect which I've not yet seen in any other SU model without rendering - they all seem to be filled with air.... Note how apparent tile height changes with water depth and how even the shadows cast on the poolbottom are affected, as they should be. Zoom in on the tiles and try different views while emtying or filing the pool. ------------- Note: the apparent tile height change from refraction is approximately given by n*sin(a)/sqrt(1- cos(a)**2/n**2) in which n=1.5 and a is the viewing angle, a bit less than 30° here. #light_refraction #swimming_pool #water_refraction
