Swan automata with a heavy rain inspired model

The credits for the actual mechanism go to JBV Creative. This video has been the main reference for the gearing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9h-76u1-tw&t=248s .

This project portrays a caricature of the heavy rain origami swan flapping its wings. The gears in this project are fairly straightforward, with the only tricky part to design being the universal joint, angled at 30 degrees.

The video game that my model is based on was the primary source of inspiration for this project. Also, my passion for mechanisms and, of course, the 3D printing and modeling course assignment from university have also had their say.

The project is designed to be powered by a manual crank. It drives a couple of gears coupled by a universal joint to the main frame, within which three gears turn to make the model's wings flap.

There is only one motion study to play, but you could turn any gear's "revolut" joint in order to see the movement.  It is recommended that you power the mechanism by the "revolut" joint by the crank.

The file types within my project are: f3d, stl, png, and mp4.

Autodesk Fusion 360 was used to create all of the components.
