My 40mm 12V fan sucked at cooling the extruder motor sufficiently on hot days (yeah, we've got a heat spell now) and temps reached 41C.
So I strapped on a 5V but more powerful and larger CPU fan. Included files: Mounting bracket, grille and an extension plug (I've noticed people using cable ties, this extension plug will support M3 screws to secure the fan to the grille and bracket).
The mounting bracket angles the fan to col the side and top, doubling the area previously covered.
Needed:
4 x M3*8mm screws
For power I ran this to a make-shift 5V connection re-purposed from an old iPhone 5V1A plug and USB cable, which also supports another fan cooling the chassis (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:875471)
