This is a top mount spool hanger I made for the Sunlu Filament Dryer. I was having issues with the stock roller placement, the spool would turn a little sideways and bind up and jump around a little. This eventually caused a 48 hour print to fail with the expensive CarbonX Nylon so I decided to make these.
No hardware or tools required this relocates the Sunlu rollers and bearings that come with the dryer.
Step 1: Carefully remove the factory rollers with the bearings one side at a time. There is plenty of room to do this without ripping the insulation or breaking the pocket they fit into.
Step 2: Pull the bearings off and put a small drop of superglue on the roller shafts that go inside the bearing, then reassemble the roller and bearings back together.
Step 3: Insert the printed parts from the file with the circles where the bearings used to be.
Step 4: Lower your filament spool into the dryer with only one of the rollers in the hole of the spool at first (lines up much easier than trying to do both rollers at the same time) then do the other while the spool is hanging.
The spool will wobble a bit until the lid is shut but the bearings make contact with the lid for excellent support.
If using PLA I'd recommend printing with 100% infill to avoid any issues at max dryer temperatures. I printed all of mine with CarbonX Nylon that I had left on the spool at 20% infill.
