A spacer/shim to go between the group handle and portafilter on a Sunbeam em6900 coffee machine.
If the filter is no longer making a firm seal against the gasket seal on the machine you can insert a shim like this on the handle to raise the filter up a bit, forcing it harder against the seal.
If your machine sprays water and coffee grounds, you probably need this.
I made one after I pulled apart the shower screen and cleaned it comprehensively, replaced the gasket seal, and cleaned a bunch of corrosion off the thermoblock. Once the corrosion was scraped and ground away the group handle and filter didn't make a tight seal anymore and I needed this shim.
Food safety: Not a concern as presently designed. The shim should not be contacting the expressed coffee.
I used PLAflex for this so it'd deform and make a nice firm seal. If you use regular PLA you may have to adjust to fit your particular spacing needs a bit more. You can just z-scale this one probably, but I included the openscad file in all its trivial glory anyway.
(I may revisit this and make a shim that goes behind the gasket seal instead, lifting it up from the back. That way it should face less mechanical load. But I'd want to make sure it stayed out of the hot water contact area because I don't really want to drink TPAflex coffee.)
