I wanted to create a plastic filter cup for my sump base on some commercial idea out there, and this is what I came up with.
I designed one that would fit my sump and then I though I should make one that fit any sump. Most sump use flow into sock, what I mean by that is usually the return from the tank to the sump is flowing on a compartment and then the overflow of that compartment flow into sock(s).
My sump is not like that, the plumbing goes directly into the sock, and I don't need a flat bottom rim. one problem I have with my sump is that the flow is overflowing over the sock, not by much, but enough to get some detrius into the sump. My fix ? 1 inch high rim. The only reason why I made the other type is that I made my project customizable and was fairly easy to reproduce any type of socks with plastic rims.
If you're looking for another size, just comment on this.
EDIT: 1 inch high rim was a little too tight for me, so I created a .5 inch rim.
