Hi everyone, I've decided to do something a little different this time around. Anyone out there who owns STAX knows that its hard to come along any real mods for their system. The following is a replacement ear cup for the L300/ SRS-3100 earspeakers.
Printing is easy, just lay the model on the flat bottom face and use build plate supports to keep it clean. The caps are designed to mounted on the left or right so you just need the one model to print both sides. To replace your old ones, simply remove the ear pads and unfasten the 4 screws holding the frame to the cap. Then (carefully) remove the cap, being sure to gently remove the wiring from the cap and replace it with the new one.
They do a good job of keeping noise in and increase the bass quite dramatically, however please know that I'm not an audio engineer and as such these WILL decrease overall sound quality and will need substantial EQ.
I've included the .STL , .IPT, AND .IGS file because I hope someone with more knowledge than me can make these work, however out of the box they should properly fit the L300's (as I do not own any other system, I cannot vouch that they will fit similarly on any other ear speaker). If you do end up modifying it please just remember to include me in the credits :).
As always, I do not take responsibility for any issues or damages to your headphones or computer when you download and use these files. Only mod your systems if you are confident in your ability to do so, especially since earspeakers are very sensitive and expensive devices.
