Star Wars Rebellion includes a number of temporary rings that can be attached to leaders. These are difficult to attach and remove during play. I created this simple base that the ring can snap onto. Each leader can then be magnetically attached and detached.
There is about 1 mm spacing between the top of the base and the bottom of the leader clear plastic base piece. I used a small 3 mm washer glued to the leader clear plastic base. The printed base has a hole that will provide a friction fit for a ProMag .25" (6.4 mm diameter x 3 mm height) neodymium magnet. These are press fit into the base.
If you take care to put all of the N/S poles in the same orientation when inserting the magnets, the rings will all stick together as a stack. I've opted to reverse the polarity between rebel and imperial rings. This way the rebel and imperial rings repel each other, but they will stick together if they are of the same light or dark side... The units for this STL is in mm.

The magnets used can be found online, or at your local Michaels here: http://www.michaels.com/promag-neodymium-magnets/10413548.html
Special thanks to Jooice ZP on Board Game Geek for coming up with the idea of using magnets to attach these little rings.
