This is a filament guide for a Wanhao i3 or a clone like mine. The filament is threaded into the centre of the spiral and this can be done while the filament is loaded. The spiral looks good and should work to stop the filament escaping (as happens with just a hooked gap).
I printed this in PETG, and it is nicely flexible. I'm not sure how it'll go with the more brittle materials, but since the only forces are sideways, it should be OK.
I only have 1.75mm filament. You may need to play around with the spiral variables to get it working with the thicker filaments. Publish your remix (or leave a comment).
This design is inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1418581 and uses 'spiral' openscad code from http://forum.openscad.org/2dgraph-equation-based-2-D-shapes-in-openSCAD-td15722.html
[2018-05-23] It's working now in Customizer. Despite comparing it to one that works, I managed to forget how to make a slider for the variables.
