This is my first attempt at a ukulele. I wanted to print the Gourd Shaped Ukulele posted here on the Thingiverse, but couldn't figure out how to go about printing it on my printer. This design can be printed on a minimum 5 x 8 printer platform without supports. I used PLA and the structure is very sturdy. The neck is connected to the body (lower hole) with a 10-24 x 1-1/2 L socket head cap screw, washer, and nut. The upper hole has a 10-24 x 3 L pan head screw for neck strength. 4 different hole inserts are offered. Pick one and snap it into the hole in the top. You will need to place the two pieces on a flat surface and smack them together for a snap fit. The ukulele top and fretboard are attached with #6 x 1/2 L flat head wood screws. The pegs are standard friction type pegs. The strings are fed through curved holes at the top of the fretboard and twist wrapped. The bridge is loose and should be glued or adhered into the slot provided. This will keep it from shifting which may cause a snapping sound.when played..Washers are provided if your tuning pegs have the small hex top. A smaller replacement tuning knob is also supplied if needed. There are 6 parts required for the ukulele. They are the body. top, fretboard, neck, hole, and bridge.
