This is a repair bracket for a Sony PVM-14M2U video production monitor. As many of these monitors have been handled roughly in their lifetime it is not uncommon for them to have broken CRT mounting points. When this occurs the CRT can shift in the case which can cause an out of alignment image, distortion from the CRT contacting the speaker, or at worst complete failure of the device. This part allows for an alternative mounting location once the top mount point has failed. I have created both a left hand and right hand bracket. The alternative bracket mounts with an M3x8 bolt and a flat square nut using an existing hole in the metal frame. The second lower hole lines up with the existing external case screw which passes through the frame and into the bracket to further reinforce the CRT mounting. An M6 bolt, washer, and nut are used to retain the CRT to the bracket. By using a flat nut and this pass through this bracket does not interfere with the case being replaced for a stock like look when the monitor is reassembled.
Make sure not to over tighten the M6 bolt as it can cause layer separation in the bracket.
