Had a problem with the Sonoff basic Smartswitch active led that was way
too bright ,so when a room is dark ,the led shines so bright that one
can all-most use the Sonoff switch as a lamp :-) .
Then i decided to make a mod to dim this bright led ,an as a result
this tiny canister was born .
If you found this design very helpful or otherwise wish to support me ,you can buy me a cup of coffee ( helps keeping the brain active so i can create new stuff ) ;-) ,then please
consider using this link :
There are two versions of the canister, one with a 1.5mm hole and
one with a 2mm hole.
I discovered that the Sonoff led do not have the same amount of
light intensity in all the Sonoff's , therefore you can tune the
led light with these two different canisters.
The picture off the Sonoff with the added mod you have to see in a
dark room to see if the led is as dimmed as you want it to be .
Be aware that you do need to disassemble the Sonoff to put
the canister over the led ,and ,this is very important ,you need
to cut off the protruding ring on the surface that "holds" the led ,
"see picture " this is so that there is space enough for the
canister ,this can easily be done with a flat-cutter .
EDIT: 1st September 2018 .
I have uploaded v.2 of this little canister to dim the Sonoff LED.
The only difference of the new v/ the old is that it now have the
form of the LED bulb in the top ,it is made to fit a completely
redesigned Sonoff case that cope with several issues i have
found with the original Sonoff case e.g. not suitable for having
space for a ground connected wire ,main wires is not getting
held in place secure enough etc.
As with the old LED dimmer ,the new one is all-so in a version
with a small hole and a larger hole ,so you are able to "tune"
how much you want the LED to "shine" .
You can choose if you want to print either of these ,they have
the same function.
