Snapmaker Enclosure Vacuum Adapter
This is my first published thing! I'm a beginner, both with FreeCAD and with 3D printing. All comments and suggestions appreciated!
My vacuum cleaner has a HEPA filter so this adapter allows me to both collect dust directly and filter out the smallest particles.
Note that these parts were designed for the Snapmaker A350 enclosure. I suspect that the exhaust duct is likely to be the same on the A250 enclosure, but I’m not sure.
I created two variants that differ whether the adapter connects directly to the enclosure's exhaust duct connector, or connects to the flexible exhaust duct. The latter is useful if there is some distance between the vacuum and the Snapmaker enclosure. The exhaust duct connector has a 75mm (measured as 74.6 and rounded up) outside diameter. The picture shows the Direct adapter connecting to the vacuum cleaner wand.
The variant with "Duct" in its name connects to the flexible duct and was made with a 76mm outside diameter to ensure a snug fit in the flexible duct. It turns out to be snug enough that a clamp was not necessary.
The second variant with "Direct" in its name fits directly over the exhaust duct connector and has an inside diameter that at the opening is 75.2 mm, and tapers to 74.4 mm, which provides a nice snug fit over the duct connector.
My vacuum wand has a 30.8 mm outside diameter. I got a nice snug fit by using a 31.1 mm inside diameter. That may not be a standard size, so you may have to modify the design. I used FreeCAD and the FCStd files are included for that purpose.
