I tow a Jeep 4-down behind a Diesel Motorhome. A very popular auxiliary brake system for air braked coaches is the Air Force One system by SMI Manufacturing. The system alerts the coach driver that the towed vehicles brakes are being applied by a LED light strip in the towed vehicle. It is visible in the rear view monitor while driving the RV. Unfortunately, the LED strip comes with a small Velcro self-adhesive strip that is supposed to be stuck to the back of the rear view mirror in the towed vehicle. The sun heats up the Velcro adhesive, and it fails in very short order. This 3d printed part holds the LED light strip at the very top of the windshield of the towed vehicle. This part is designed to fit a JEEP Wranger's trim/windshield geometry. I am using 3m VHB tape to fasten this holder to the top trim piece just above the windshield. It's will hold the LED light strip horizontally, and very neatly out of the way. Before printing this part...I had to try to refasten my Velcro, or use blue painters tape to hold the led light strip up against the windshield. Sometimes that worked...and sometimes it failed. This will be a much more reliable way to get proper reporting of the braking system from my towed vehicle. If you own a JEEP and have the Air Force One brake system installed in it...Feel free to use this design...or remix it to your towed vehicles geometry.
