This is my design for a wallet that magnetically attaches to a phone case and it's rad as hell. I made the mounts to fit on a case for a Samsung Galaxy J3 but I reckon you could modify it pretty easily to fit any other case. You can super glue the mounts to your case or just use blutack like I have and it's so far lasted me 3 years so it's not a bad option.
Fits 4 cards but the design can be modified easily to fit more.
Takes 7 x (6mm diameter * 2mm height) disc magnets and 1 circle of tin ~9mm across for the magnetic mounting. I cut my circle out of the bottom of a mint tin and its barely circular but it still works fine.
Also, you can modify the comb insert to be whatever you want, it folds out like a cool, magnetic swiss army knife. Other possible tools to put there: a microSD card holder, a useless tiny ruler, a tiny photo frame, or part of a key.
Assembly Instructions post-printing:
Cut a ~9mm wide disc of tin and super glue it into the slight recess on the small, triangular piece.
Sand the underside of this triangular piece, the edges of the underside of the "head" of the wallet, the card voids in each of the interior corners, and the gap in the base for the (optional) comb insert.
Apply super glue to the edges of the underside of the head where you've just sanded, and stick down the triangular piece on those edges so that it lines up with the top side.
Line the mounts up on the back of your case by using any card as a guide to how far apart they should be placed and then attach them with glue or blutack.
Insert all 7 magnets into each of the 6*2mm holes on each piece; 1 on the bottom piece of the mount, 2 on the top piece, 2 on the insert, and 2 in the base of the wallet itself. Make sure that if you do glue these magnets in place (mine are just held in by a snug fit), that they are all magnetically aligned before doing so. I learned that mistake the hard way.
Insert your comb/ other insert piece into the wallet.
Voila! You're done. Who really uses more than 4 cards anyway?
If you have any feedback for the next version, please leave a comment! I've already found some thinner magnets to use so that I can minimise the profile even further.
