Sky Server, Drink holder (QUASS)

The Sky Server is very simple item to help carry just one can or bottle of any liquid, soft drink, beer, juice etc. The unique thing about it is that it can expand from 2.6" (a standard sized coke can) all the way up to 3" in diameter for a larger can (think energy drink etc.).

Althought I'm not setup to do it as of yet, my lulzbot printer has the option of printing in rubber + plastic, so I wanted to explore the possibilities of this cool option. Essentially, the bands in blue would be printed using ninja flex rubber and the grey parts would be printed using normal ABS. They're locked together by a groove. The rubber allows the whole thing to expand and accommodate different sized cans but the elasticity of the rubber will bring it back to it's original form.

I knew that patrons would be grabbing for the drink so I didn't want it close to the craft, hence it's dangled from a rope. The patron can either take the Sky server off the hook completely and use it to hold the can or bottle or they can just pull the can or bottle out and the quad will return for a refill. As you notice, the rope is attached via a quick clip (QUASS) which is a generic clip system I developed for this challenge.

**regarding manufacturing
I do realize that rubber "overmolding" exists in the traditiona injection molding process, but I'm not sure if you can mold rubber in this way as a separate part, which I thought made this design somewhat 3DP centric.
