I printed a test piece of the original, and I just wasn't feeling the handle. SO... I imported the original skull into Meshmixer, and started to play... I created a more "organic" handle, larger and "bone-like", and I pulled the Mastoid Process (pointy side bone) back to the handle to give it more stability. This is a fresh upload, haven't even printed it yet, but I suspect some sanding may need to take place to level out the rear tabs...
Edit: First printing fared well... still need to tweak a couple things, but overall, I'm satisfied. Larger than original mug, side-by-side for comparison.
Edit, edit... Smoothed out handle a little more, less of a seam between handle and cup.
Edit, edit, edit... Used Maker Geeks Raptor PLA in their "Khaki, Non-Khaki" color, which is the Raptor equivalent to their "Urban Fossil" PLA... It's 15% larger than the file, using Cura. 3mm walls, with 30% infill, it's become a substantial mug.
Now to anneal it, sand it, and give it a coat of food-grade epoxy...
Edit, edit, edit, edit... Since posting, the whole Maker Geeks debacle fell through, and was no longer able to get product, and/or response from their customer service, I re-printed the entire project with Push Plastics "Desert Tan" in PETG (last photo uploaded)... it has a more "natural" bone color, not "fossilized" like the previous. I like the results much better, and offers more artistic wiggle room if you chose to paint effects on it... And, since the first posting, I switched to an Ender 3...
