I updated the files and am test printing now
The first in a series of training bots in the 1lb weight range...
Suggested gear:
a 2(or more) channel radio... you could use a flysky GT2 or similar radio... they cost around $20... or you could get an FS-I6 (about $40) which is a 6 channel stick style radio (or equivelent) and you won't need to upgrade radios if you want to build more complex bots.
either 2 ESC's or a dual channel mixing ESC (I would reccomend one like this: https://amzn.to/32loPL2 )... if you go with two individual escs you will need to use a stick radio like the fs-i6 that can mix channels for steering and throttle... The 2 channel ESC is running about $20 on amazon... less on aliexpress.
2 TT motor gearboxes... the plastic geared variety (45:1 gear ratio)... they are about $1 each... get a couple...
2 K346 wheels... you just want the rubber tires from the wheels... they are about $0.50 each from aliexpress... get some extra ones... the hubs are for n20 motors and kind of stink... so I modeled my own hub which works well.
you will need a couple battery connectors... we use JST on these bots and you can get 10 pairs already crimped for about $1 on aliexpress... a bit more money on amazon like everything else... but pick the kind you want to use based on what battery choice you make.
Batteries and chargers... here you have lots of choices... I use a lot of lipos but they are more expensive than some alternatives... the bot can handle a 2s 1000mah lipo which is serious overkill... you would probably get almost an hour of run-time on 1000mah. a 450mah battery gets around 25 minutes at one of our demonstrations, and that is being run hard by kids... I am probably going to switch our demo bots over to 18650 cells that I can harvest out of laptops... then I just need to add charging circuits (they are about $.25 ea) to the batteries and they can then charge from an old ATX power supply... If you are going to compete, you should go with lipo batteries beecause of weight... though this bot is pretty light and it probably would have no issue with 18650's and maintaining weight.
you will also need 2 m3x25, 2 m3x16 and 2 m3x6 button head socket screws. (16's for the wheels), some solder.... thats about it... build article coming soon.
