Remix of my own project. I originally designed the phone shower caddy so that my wife could listen to music while in the shower, and not drop her phone. This was a fairly well received project, but overtime it has needed an update and I also wanted to add a very frequently suggested feature. So, here is version 2, with the ability to rotate the holder to both landscape and portrait orientation! I do not want to know what you all wanted the landscape version for, but here it is by popular request. Please take note that I do not warranty your device if it decides to fall out of the holder! I did but little ridges/bumps on the top of the sides to help keep it held it. Also, with different lengths of phones, I cannot guarantee that your phone will be held perfectly horizontal. Please test before turning on the water!
I kept with the same idea of the design as before, shortened the top to make it easier to get the phone in and out. Recessed the area where the "hook" attachment slides into the main holder body. Took away the cutout for the home button and just left a small ridge to help keep it in on the bottom. I originally designed this to fix an iPhone 6 Plus with an Otterbox defender case on it. I tried to keep within those same parameters, but I know phones change as well as cases. It should accommodate a device that is no more than 86.5 MM wide, 20mm deep, and 200mm tall. (3.4" wide, 0.75" depth, and 8" tall) but please know that this can vary because of printers and settings.{ I have also included the "no bump" version if you need to get the original width of 89.5mm (3.5").} The inside is filleted to keep with the contours of the phones and cases as well as to provide reinforcement and ease of printing.
Print the main holder on its back, and the hook on its side. Only the hook will need supports.
The little tabs that stick out on the sides of the hook are fragile. Make sure they are printed solidly and be careful as they break off easily. I will see about a redesign after testing the two I have printed to see how sturdy they are over a period of time.
Enjoy and happy showering!
