I recently ordered the Z Plus as well as a 52mm spindle (one of those 110v air cooled ones that are around $100). I needed a way to mount it, and didn't want to use a sleeve, straps or zip ties.
This consists of 2 plates. The smaller plate is fixed to the Z Plus mount, the other is screwed to the mount that came with the spindle. In the middle of each plate are 4 small holes. I tapped these to hold the plates together, but one could carefully screw them together or attempt to bind the plates with epoxy.
I laser cut this out of 1/4 inch acrylic. Eventually, I will mill this out of aluminum, but this should do for now.
I was able to use hardware that came with the Z Plus, but did have to use different bolts than what came with the spindle. I used 4 - #10-24 x 3 in round head bolts and nuts to attach the spindle mount to the small plate. The screw heads are in the back of the plate and nuts at the front of the mounting plate.
After attaching the mount, I used 4 small screws that I had lying around to a fix the 2 plates together. I did pre-tap the holes. The screw heads fit within some spacing between the small plate and the mount. To keep the bolts in place to allow the nuts to adjust without removing the plates from the Z, you can fill in the spacing holes on the larger plate with epoxy.
All that was left then was to attach it to the Z axis.
