An enclosure I designed for my sapphire pro so i could start printing with abs, I started off trying to design something super simple and easy but it turned into this... haha not simple not easy and tbh there's probably a hundred better designs out there but oh well..
I've also added some 5v led lights into the printer which was a really simple job, I love the way it looks lit up and ill add some photos showing how I did this, because it took me a while to find info on it and it wasn't difficult at all.
The only thing I don't like and haven't actually installed yet is the fan with shroud, I had a bit of duct I took from an old portable AC unit and wanted to use this to save me some money but the thing is dam massive so I think I'm going to go buy a smaller bit of duct which doesn't look ridiculous.
Ive left the top unfinished atm because I want to try out a few different spool holders until I find one that works and Ill design that into the top, im also not sure if it will handle the weight of a full spool of filament as its only sitting on top of the sheet of PVC, so I might have to design some supports to sit under the PVC...
Installing the outer frames requires unbolting the bolts and sliding the channel nuts already inserted into the printed frames down from the top and tightening once they are all in the right place... simple? noooope
Requires m4 10mm bolts and M4 channel nuts.
A handful of 4mm by 3mm rare earth magnets.
I used 3mm PVC sheets for the infill and glued it in with either super glue or contact adhesive.
Everything is easy to print except the top door hinge.. I used supports for this.
Honestly don't think this is the best way to go if your looking for an enclosure for your sapphire, I enjoy designing things and this was just a fun project for me, Its still a work in progress as well.
I saw a photo a while ago with the ABS inside logo which someone had made, but i couldn't find it so I designed my own, so credit this idea to whoever it was out there who did it first:)
I will upload photos as soon as ive finished building it, hopefully today.. as long as i dont get distracted by somethi
