This is a model of Santa's head that showcases some pretty basic hybrid surface modeling techniques and also some 2011 PhotoView 360 displacement mappings that really give the final rendering a nice touch. The SolidWorks file is large because I've embedded my custom referenced appearance files into the model (Tools>Options>Document Properties>Model Display>Store appearance...). You'll also notice one of my favorite tips for using sketch pictures - don't sketch in the same sketch the picture has been inserted into. This allows you to quickly toggle the visibility of the picture on and off as you sketch. Now go compose yourself a Christmas card!
