rev 4: minor bug fixes.
rev 3: added insets for the Chicago screws at the wrist.
rev 2: minor tweaks, cleaned up code.
I designed this gauntlet to go with the Cyborg Beast palm. The main thing is to get the outside wrist width to fit in the palm.
Outside wrist width = prmR1 * 2.0 + prmThickness + prmPivotExtra
I liked the idea of having the Velcro slots oriented out to help eliminate a lot of support material.
This is the 4th revision and has proved to be strong, and not requiring knots is nice. Each finger can be finely adjusted and readjusted independently.
Parameters:
Chicago screw radius, etc
overall wall thickness
length
front radius
back radius
several for wrist pivot positioning
front/back brace widths (the middle brace is an average)
Inspired by http://enablingthefuture.org
The sample gtlt_R26_R32_L130.stl has a front radius of 26,
back radius of 32 and a Length of 130.HINT: This model is round, so in your 3D printer software scale the
Z axis to 90% to 'squish' it to a more natural shape. (this will be fixed shortly)
Q: Why are the 5 Chicago screw holes not centered on the back? A: This is designed for a left hand. The holes are placed (and offset to the left) so that the strings can be easily readjusted while being worn.
