Finished! See updates below for random ramblings of me scratching my head and grunting at my computer screen.
WORK IN PROGRESS, files may change daily so I don't advise trying to print this yet until I get it all worked out. Check the updates below to see progress. This is my first build from scratch. Im currently printing the parts to test fit everything so this is the first draft of this box. I will update as I make any fixes or redo parts. Open to suggestions if you have any.
Magnet size: 10x3, really any size under 10 will work as long as they have around 3mm thickness. Placement of the magnet holes work with the drawer voids to pull them to the back of the body. After printing the body, The 10x3s I have are a really tight fit, so an 8x3 or 6x3 would be easier to place and glue.
First Update 12/21/20: Printed the wheels and pin. The pin is tight, I hit it with some 220 grit sand paper and just a few passes did the trick. Being there is no ratcheting or locking mechanism to the wheels friction is doing the work to hold the wheel in place to keep the number where you need it. Main body is not printed yet but looks like a drop of super glue on each end of the pin in the body will do the trick to keep everything in place. Dice tower is printing now so I can test clearance for standard polyhedrals.
Second Update 12/22/20: dice tower printed out, face fits in fine and there is just enough room to roll one die at a time. So far all the dice sets I have for through it (d4 to d20). For now I'm leaving this as it. I may go back later and make a version capable of rolling a couple at a time but for now with how compact it all is, this works.
Third Update 12/22/20: While printing the main body I noticed there was an odd line at the back where the larger drawer goes in. It was .13mm that needed to be removed. This has been updated in the files. It's still printing but outside that I haven't noticed anything else yet, so I should still be able to test fit the other parts in the next day or two when I finish printing the drawers and top. Had to add a bevel to the top of the dice tower for folding clearance.
Fourth Update 12/23/20: Tower, Tower Face, Pin, and Main Body updated from adjustments made for fitting. Currently printing the top and drawers for testing. Final files should be done over the next day or two.
FINAL UPDATE 12/24/20: Merry Christmas ya filthy animals. I've poked and prodded this thing to death. All the files are now up to date and everything should print and fit like it's supposed to. If I rework anything else on this i'll just mess it all up. General assembly notes: Just use magnets that are 6x3 or 8x3. The top plate fits pretty snug but throwing a dab of super glue where its bottom meets the top of the body does fine, same for the pin in the number wheels. Print with supports, use caution on the large drawer as the support can be a pain to remove from the finger hole...or go bananas and be like a bad father and don't support it. I've learned a lot from this one and moving on to the next thing. Thanks for checking this out.
