I wanted to add a round counter to my Dillon 650 reloading press. Ideally this would only be to count rounds going through the 5th station, but this was the compromise to not having wires hanging off of the tool holder.
This is a simple, cheap counter purchased off ebay that I have located in the bottom of the case feeder housing. I also used a cheap buck converter to supply voltage to the counter. So all of the electronics probably cost 10-15 bucks.
The switch mounts in tandem with the shell plate cam follower on the left side of the press. You will need to replace the two mounting screws with 1" SHCS rather than using the stock screws.
I do not intend to give a complete tutorial on how the whole mess works but it is rather simple. Connect power to the counter, the interrupt micro switch from the press and a reset momentary switch of you choosing. I also added a power switch in between the counter and the power supply so it was not always on.
I there is much interest in this and you can't figure it out I will post a schematic.
