This is my attempt at making an interactive feeding dog toy in the form of a roly polly, tumbler, or wobbler. I made two types one for small dogs, like chihuahuas or less than 10lb-dogs and another one for dogs in the 20lbs range. The design is not perfect but it does wobble and keeps them interested while there is tasty kibble or treats inside. The small version should be able to hold 1/8 cup of small kibble and the bigger version at least 1/2 cup of kibble.
The one for small dogs has a base or bottom that is mostly solid (ABS) and it is printed at half the size (scaling factor 5, bottom_threaded.stl). I printed it at 75%. The top (top_short_threaded.stl) is also printed at half the size and I used 25% infill. I did not use supports for the scaled down version.
The bigger bottom (base) part is hollow (bottom_hollow_threaded.stl) and it is printed at full-size (scale 10) and 25% infill. The top (top_short_threaded.stl) and bottom were printed with supports. To minimize printing time, I only used supports for the center of the cover. Once printed, I filled the base with stone-dust and then crazy-glued the cover. (Bettter would be to apply caulking on the edges of the cover as well). The thread worked really well on both versions.
I added images of how the parts were printed on the table of my 3D printer.
Under no circumstances (never) allow your dog to play unattended with this toy and only allow him to play with it for a maximum of 10 min at a time. If you decide to print it, I am not to be held accountable for any damage or harm that this toy may cause to your pet. Print it at your own risk and that of your pet.
I usually have to scale by 10 all my drawings when they go into my slicer. It maybe because I draw them in mm and slicers may expect cm.
