RIGA]TUAF] The Deimar Incident

TL;DR IS AT THE BOTTOM Deimar is a planet in the Ganima Ceti system, which is located 562 light years from the Solar system and 291 light years from the Rigel system. The GC system is one of the only star systems that are controlled both by the Rigel Empire and the Terran Union, since the 3240 Rigelo-Terran war that divided the system. Deimar, the third planet from it's system's sun, is claimed by both powers, and each power occupies roughly 50% of it's surface, creating an extremely tense DMZ along the border. In the year 3304, a Terran patrol consisted of two 'Lobster 2' patrol vehicles, one of them with a mounted machine gun, accidentally entered the DMZ due to a GPS failure. The surprised and alarmed RIGA command on the planet sends a small garrison to confront the incoming TUA troops, which causes further misunderstanding at the planetary TUA command, sending in the closest armored reinforcements. The confrontation lasts for very long and tense 30 minutes, until the TUA troops decide to make a one-sided retreat. TL;DR: An incident occurring on a planet named Deimor that almost started a galactic war between two major powers.
