Updated 04-06-2020: Config files updated for the latest Version 3.1.1 Firmware release.
(note that the 2nd extruder is disabled in the attached config. Uncomment relevant lines to enable it again)
Added config files for factory default Z Homing switch - NOTE: if used, Duet will ignore any probe inputs and home against the Z-Endstop switch that comes with the Rep2x by default (make sure it is wired up to the Z-Endstop pins on Duet like the X/Y endstop switches are)
This is part 3 of the Replicator 2/2X DuetWifi Upgrade series.
Part 1, 2 and 4 can be found here:
Part 1: DuetWifi Installation and PanelDue Mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2428995)
Part 2: Mini Differential IR Probe mount for Replicator 2X (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2475179)
Part 3: DuetWifi Configuration files for Replicator 2X (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2475257)
Part 4: Simplify3D Slicer Configuration for the Replicator 2X (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2476695)
Part 5: Endstop adapter for inductive z probe intsead of the IR probe (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2954398)
This thing includes the config files I created for the Replicator 2X powered by the DuetWifi.
Before you use them please note the following:
My Rep2X is modified with a Raffle AluCarriage, Bottleworks HB and Flexion Extruder. As such you need to adjust the Bed Dimensions, Dual Extruder offsets, Home offsets and IR Probe offsets based on your final configuration. I have marked these in the files with to make them easy to find.
Autotune your heaters and use the new values
If you do not use the IR Probe, look in the files and follow the prompts to enable the legacy Z Axis Endstop
Files that need to be updated/modified for your machine (see above):
config.g
homeall.g
homez.g
Last but not least, post in the comments below in case you have questions. I will try my best to answer them frequently.
Have fun !
FAQ:
1: Have you replaced your end stops on X and Y i know about Z but Config seems to show them as NO not NC as they are.
A: No, the endstops are stock. As mentioned in the thing description there are 2 options for Z. Use the factory installed endstop (search the code for ) or IR probe homing for Z (which is the default setting in my config now). If you want to use the stock Z Endstop, you need to simply comment out the probe based Z homing and uncomment the switch based Z Endstop code in the config file provided.
2: Geometry on the Axis is compared to my stock firmware reversed. from LCD minus should move axes to left when looking at LCD your firmware does the opposite, not saying it is wrong but im just looking for answers.
A: Yes, I decided to put zero where the homing switches are. Rear right instead of the default rear left. Makes more sense in my opinion.
3: Speed on Z Axis could be improved but thats is just a minor detail.
A: Yes and no. It will reduce the sensor homing accuracy. If you go with the switch based homing you can increase it.
4: DC42 Z-Prope seems to not report back in Analog frequence? did you also connect to Z-Prope port
A: Yes, the DC42 probe is probe with an analog output connected to the Z probe connector. Probe mode is set to Mode 1 in the Firmware
5: Motor in reverse i think this is just because your connectors for nema turns otherway arround?
A: Yes, you need to update this based on your final wiring (I redid the complete wiring harnes in my machine to rule out issues due to the flimsy Makerbot wires. Most wires are now highly flexible silicone wires)
