A removable tilt-back stand for guitar amplifiers.
Amps are usually parallel to the floor but if you want to hear it better you probably should point it at your head for some monitoring in live situations. This is a nice, minimal solution that you can just throw in the back of your cabinet and quickly install when you need it.
This one was designed to fit my Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue amp. It slides on to the back bracing panel, which is about 11mm thick. I also tried this on another tube amp I own, and the thickness was the same so this may be a standard sizing.
Requires a 0.5-in (12.7mm) diameter wooden dowel, which you can get at an art supply or hardware store for a couple of bucks. Saw saw both ends at a 90-degree angle to the desired length.
I cut mine at 20cm for my Fender Princeton Reverb. but it depends on where the bracing of your amp is located and what angle you want to achieve.
You might need some trigonometry to get precise numbers, but I can save you some time given some common angles. First, measure the height (in centimeters) from the floor to the bottom of the amp's back bracing. Let's call it "Y".
For a 60-degree tilt (which I think is ideal), multiply Y with 0.866 for the dowel length in cm
For a 45-degree tilt (a more extreme angle), multiply Y by 0.707 for the dowel length in cm
Attach and glue the corresponding 3d-printed pieces to each end of the dowel. You might also want to replace the rounded bottom cap with a 0.5-in diameter rubber foot if you want some more grip. Or print that piece it in TPU if you can.
There are 3 sizes for different back panel thicknesses, be sure to measure yours first:
10.75mm - most Fender amps
14.3mm - I'm told this fits "Tone King" boutique amps
20mm - This is the full thickness of speaker cabinet wood
