We recently moved into a house which has steep stairs leading into the cellar and the first floor. Since we have a baby and a toddler, I wanted to mount a stair gate. The most suitable I found were the models 46120 and 46115 from the company Reer.
I wanted to mount the hinges on the railing. Reer actually sells "Stairflex" - a mounting kit for your railing. However it didn't fit very well - therefore I decided to create my own set of mounting brackets.
The railing in our house has 27mm in diameter. I will include the step and Fusion 360 files so that you can easily adjust the design to your own needs.
I included two types of brackets:
General-purpose bracket for a 27mm diameter
Extended bracket in case your rail bars are not tall enough.
Please note that the supports which come with model 46120 and 46115 differ slightly from each other. It seems model 46120 (which I bought about 7 weeks later), claims to be version 2. The mounting brackets provided in this project are only compatible with model 46120.
On each bracket I used:
4x M6 45mm cylinder head screw
1x M4 16mm countersunk head screw
1x M4 35mm countersunk head screw
4x M6 Hex nuts
2x M4 Hex nuts
