Remixes for the Radial Fan Fang for the E3D Chimera dual extruder and Cyclops.
High infill recommended, particularly on the "sensor editions," or the mounts will be weak.
NOTE: The famed "Ball of air" effect is less effective for the Chimera than for the Cyclops. It is not possible to create a dual focal point for the Chimera with only 2 fan ducts.
It has been pointed out that the fan ducts seem to be about 1 mm further back than ideal. This is an intentional change. I did this because the mounting screw holes tend to be relatively weak and break easily no matter how I print them. I have found that putting a small (1mm thick) washer on both sides of the mount hole spreads out the pressure enough that the holes do not break as easily if you accidentally overtighten the screw. It also holds the mount in place more securely. So i put one washer on the screw, feed it through the mount hole, add another washer, then screw it into the heatsink.
Update: Resolved Simplify3d issue with mesh, and added a hole in BLTouch mount to allow wires to pass through
Update: Fixed non-manifold sections of models that were making the sensor and fan mounts weak
First Chimera versions
Optimized polygon count. The "thingiview" and preview images look "chunky," but the finished print is almost indistinguishable from the original
Measurements corrected for Cyclops
Raised BLTouch mount by 3 mm
Last Chimera models added.
BLTouch mount moved on Chimera models to better clear the duct
Update: Fixed self-intersections on some models that were causing weak areas or holes when being printed.
Update: Still some issues with self-intersections in Simplify3D, making some parts weak. Slic3r seems to be able to auto-correct them. Slic3r recommended for printing until I can fix the Simplify3d issues.
Update: Finally! Simplify3d issues have been resolved. Models should work with any slicer now. Thank you https://makeprintable.com for your assistance in resolving the issues with the original STL's. Apologies for the previous inconvenience.
Please let me know if you discover any problems and I will look into them
