I designed this as i wanted easy access to the bowden tube fitting. I can verify that its a straight fit to the enders 2 and 3 as for other creality builds....let us know
First up - A simple block to hold the E3D V6 heat sink to a stock Creality printer.
2nd Iteration has a hinge.
either type works with the fan mount and duct mentioned below
The fanduct is reworked from this genius thinghttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:839620 (Many thanks to eipionezero for including the Solidworks file)
i found the original fanduct to be quite thin and using PLA at the time it had a tendancy to sag a little. i was worried about it popping off when i wasnt around. So i beefed it up and added an swivel screen to turn off part cooling.
i liked my design a lot but apart from the screen rattling on occasion, the whole assy blocked my view of the nozzle.
So i made a cut out. this didnt work with the swivel screen so i did away with that.
It still looked like it might fall off so i made a magnet mount with index. the magnets were less than comforting so finally i opted for an elastic band. feeling that was a cop out i printed a custom flexible strap from TPU and I'm calling the job done.
at the moment i am working to perfect a Direct drive mount for this set up.
I have it made and working but i am less than happy with the alignment of the 30mm of PTFE that bridges the gap between the extruder and the heat sink.
The rendering shows the fanduct with the optional part cooling and the photo's show my current rig with nozzle view. I find that as the part cooling channel is limited it works well with PETG Filament which is what i mostly use now.
If you read all this then thank you. I hope you print this and enjoy it as much as i do.
stay tuned for the Direct drive mount coming soon which uses most of these parts (it will use the hinged mount for sure)
