This is a 11.6 km Elevated Expressway connecting the Hyderabad International Airport with the city at Mehdipatnam. The PVNR Expressway has been opened for traffic at the end points on 2009-10-19. However, the construction of six midway entry/exit ramps is yet to be completed. The expressway starts at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Mehdipatnam and passes through Rethibowli, Laxmi Nagar, Attapur, Hyderguda, Upperpally, Rajendra Nagar and connects to the National Highway 7 (NH-7) near Aramghar junction. The maximum speed limit on the P.V. Expressway is 60 km/hour for light motor vehicles. As the carriageway narrows down from two lanes (7.5 meters width) to one-and-half lane (6 meters width) due to sharp-turns at Laxminagar, Upparpally and Shivrampally, the maximum speed at these turnings has been restricted to 40 km/hour. Overtaking at these narrow carriageways along with parking on the flyover has been strictly prohibited. Entry for cyclists, two and three-wheelers, three and four-wheeled seven seaters, pushcarts and bullock carts are prohibited on the flyover.
