I modified the original Prusa i3 MK3 extruder body to mount a BLTouch.
The original printable parts files are located here:https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/
I've included the unmodified STL's from the Prusa MK3 / MK2.5 package that you will need to convert your x-axis gantry and extruder assembly over to this setup. The Extruder body is the only STL that has been modified from the original Prusa design.
You should be able to follow along with the build instructions here for assembly of the extruder assembly:https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/5.+E-axis+assembly/510?lang=en
The location of the BL touch is 30mm to the right of the nozzle (Positive X), and is aligned with the center-line front-to-back (Y Axis).
X-offset is 30mm
Y-offset is 0mm
You will need to tune your Z-offset after printing and installing your setup, as every printer will be slightly different.
It is recommended by Prusa to print these extruder files in PETG with 20% infill. Black is the standard color.
Print settings:
0.2 mm layer height, infill 20% GRID and material PETG or ABS.
All extruder parts need to be printed in BLACK!
License GNU GPL v3.
These parts are based off of the R3 iteration of the MK3 extruder body design.
PARTS:
Some of the parts can need a little difficult to find in the US. Here are what I was able to find that worked for me.
Bondtech gears: https://www.printedsolid.com/collections/bondtech/products/bondtech-drivegears
Order the 22mm shaft version
M3 Square Nuts: https://www.printedsolid.com/products/m3ns-nut-din-562-thin-m3-square-net
Printed solid has these in the thin M3 size. If you try to use hex nuts instead of square nuts, you will have problems. These are hard to find in the US. Most US fastener suppliers don't have this square nuts down in M3.
Extruder springs: https://folgertech.com/products/bed-springs
The exact springs Prusa used are not defined. I bought 4 of the bed level springs from folgertech (used 2 per bolt) and they worked really well. Generic extruder or bed level springs that are common on Amazon, eBay, etc will not work. They are too large and the wire diameter is too big.
