This is a boden tube holder for the Prusa i3 Mk2.
Purpose: Hold a boden tube to the extruder so the filament is not exposed to air from an airtight enclosure. It also helps to prevent to low angles from the filament when you store your filament under the printer.

Why do you have your boden tube cut short after the holder?
As i use now an IKEA Lack enclosure i have difficulties printing with a full boden tube as the tube can not go up and gets squished in the enclosure. Before that i used only an airtight enclosure for the filament and so i could use a full boden tube to the extruder.
Now it only helps to stabilize the angle from the filament.
