I designed a fan cover for "safety" purposes and thought I'd integrate a hose clamp in order to route wiring as well as reduce flex near the extruder motor. The clamp will form a second secure point other than the zip-tie beneath the extruder motor.
Fan size: 40x40mm
Clamp inner diameter: 10mm
Cover only: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:879894
The fan cover uses the existing screws and the thread is just long enough to exit the hex nut. This is the case when using 50an6xy06r6n's fan duct (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:356001)
or my remix thereof (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:878681). And NOT the standard Pribtrbot fan shroud.
It is a tight squeeze to get the wiring and wire wrap into the clamp, but that is the point.
Install:
1) Remove approximately 5cm (2 inches) of the wire wrap.
2) Get all the wiring within the clamp.
3) Slide the clamp forward and over the wire wrap by sliding an extended piece of wire wrap through the clamp opening.
4) Once the clamp is over the wire wrap, reinstall the wire wrap.
5) Slide the clamp backwards over the reinstalled wire wrap.
6) Assemble the fan cover, fan and fan shroud.
7) Tighten clamp with zip-tie. (2.5mm wide zip-tie)
