**UPDATE: I have printed these parts and verified that they fit and the connection is nice and tight. I would have uploaded photos but I am in the middle of solving a problem with the bed part cooling causing warping (not a problem with this specific part, just a problem with my printer set up. I have also now uploaded a version that can be printed sideways adding a tremendous amount of strength since the layers are parallel to the beam. The design to make it able to lay down is different than your normal 2020 extrusion in such that 2 of the opposing sides are just V notches (this was intended to by the track that the wheels on a carriage sit) while the other 2 opposing sides or pretty similar to the original except any vertical walls are now angled giving the void a more of a diamond shape. you can fit smaller nuts in there perfectly but I will probably design an M3 nut adapter that slides in for convenience. I hope you enjoy the improvements!
This is a quick design I came up with to actually print 2020 frame pieces and click them together, it is compatible with almost any 3 wheel carriage (that only use the sides of the extrusion) or if you rotate the extrusion so the open slots face the bed then you could mount a rail and use a rail system either way works. I did design a vary small tolerance in the inserts but didn't want to design too much in because any play could mess up the usability. I haven't had a chance to print this out yet and test it because I am currently printing something but I will try and print some in the near future. My goal is to have an almost entirely printed delta printer so people can stop paying a crap to buy aluminum extrusions or rods from china. Let me know what you think!
