This modification allows the setting of the extruder temperature of the PP3DP UP! mini between 197°C and 275° in steps of approx. 1.3°C.
Other ranges and other steps are possible by using different resistors/resistor stages.
Puts a cap on to the extruder top.
Should fit other Printers like the PP3DP UP! Plus, Afinia and similar, as well.
The extruder temperature is measured by a PT100 element. In the relevant temperature range the resistance of the PT100 increases by approx. 3.65 Ohm every 10°C. If we put a resistor with 3.65 Ohm in line with the PT100, the temperature controller "things" that the temperature of the extruder is 10°C higher than it really is. So it tries to control a temperature of 275°C, but in controls only 265°C. for instance. By applying different resistances we can trick the controller to control different temperatures.
Attention: the controller always tries to control 275°C (for ABS; ~225°C for PLA; 266°C Afinia, ...) and shows this temperature on screen, even though it is tricked to control a lower temperature.
Thanks to all the distributors for all the helpful information on internet.
