I went into RadioShack the other day and saw these Enercell portable battery packs on clearance for only $5! That's a great deal, especially at a Brick & Mortar store like RS.
I have a BeagleBone (White) that uses Mini-USB, but aside from that and ancient devices, most of my USB devices use Micro (Would prefer Mini to be honest, I think Micro USB Male headers break too easily). I wanted to mod the battery to make it ANY USB compatible and make a "housing" for it so that the USB female socket wouldn't be hanging around so I made some quick measurements and printed it out!
The funny(weird) thing was the Female USB socket (picked up at RadioShack) was ~$6.99 while the battery was only $4.99 : ) Probably could have picked up the socket online cheaper, but I was there and figured with cost of S&H for a single unit would negate the RS price anways.
Looks like it's about $5.99 at amazon:http://www.amazon.com/Enercell-Power-800mAh-Charger-2300218/dp/B008KPQTW0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1373906604&sr=8-3&keywords=enercell+portable+USB
