I always wanted a powerful, portable LED-Floodlight and I have many used RC-LiPo-batterys so I designed this portable floodlight/worklight.
It has a wide range voltage input so you can connect nearly any kind of battery to it. It accepts from 9 to 48 volts and it will give you plenty of light.
Parts you need:
You need a 100W LED-Chip like this one. It fits perfectly into the bracket. It doesn’t matter if you only run it at 10 or 20 Watts because then, the efficiency increases and it isn’t much more expensive than a 10 or 20W module:https://www.ebay.com/itm/10W-20W-50W-100W-Cool-Warm-White-High-Power-LED-Panel-Chip-100-Watt-Lamp-Light/222748000861?var=521604661972
To keep the LED from overheating, a suitable heatsink is required. The size depends on the power you are running your LED at. If you run your light at 10-30 Watts, a small CPU-cooler or a big transistor heatsink will do the job. For more power, you obviously need better cooling like a bigger heatsink or an additional fan.
To run a 12V-fan from your battery, there is a step-down converter needed. This one fits the mounting holes in the case:https://www.ebay.com/itm/LM2596HVS-LM2596HV-DC-DC-Adjustable-Step-Down-Buck-Converter-Power-Supply-Module/310788581728
To run the LED with constant current, you need this boost converter. It has a very wide input range from 9 to 48 Volts which means that you can run your floodlight on nearly any kind of battery or accumulator. Set the voltage to around 35V and the current as you like. At 0.8Amps, you are running your LED at around 25 Watts which already is very bright and the LED doesn’t draw too much out of your battery. Mine runs at 1.0A which is around 33 Watts. Keep in mind that the more power you want, the faster your battery will be empty.https://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-DC-Converter-Constant-Current-Power-supply-250W-10A-Step-up-Boost-LED-Driver/401033419926
This toggle switch fits the hole on the side oft he frame.https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-x-On-Off-Small-Toggle-Switch-Miniature-SPST-6mm-AC250V-3A-120V-5A-Y3B6/253164173162
If you are running a LiPo-Battery, it is a good idea top lug a lipo cell checker with low voltage alarm into the lipos balancer plug.https://www.ebay.com/itm/3915-DM-8S-Battery-Checker-For-1-8Cells/253529553570
You can also mount a lens in front oft the LED, on the bracket. Lenses like this one fit the hole pattern:https://www.ebay.com/itm/57mm-led-Lens-Reflector-Steel-Bracket-kit-For-20w30w50w100w-square-LED-Light/322655295483
