On the edge of Harzlohplatz, a green area in the midst of high-rise apartment buildings from the twenties, is the police station, which was built in the style of the surrounding buildings with a dark clinker facade and flat roof. In front of the two-storey main building there is a single-storey porch on both sides, the roof area of which can be used as a terrace. The external staircase above the entrance to the main building is illuminated by a vertical ribbon of windows. The building is no longer used as a police station today.
The house at Lorichsstrasse 28 A was built in 1930 according to plans by Fritz Schumacher as a police station.
In 1980 there was a citizens' initiative for traffic calming in Barmbek-Nord. The initiative promoted their idea with an annual street festival around Hartzlohplatz. The traffic calming at the corner of Hartzloh / Lorichsstr. was approved and built.
But the members of the initiative now wanted more: a meeting in the district.
In 1982 the police moved out because departments were merged. The initiative won the building of Revierwache 46 as a community center and moved in on the fly, so to speak.
