PlottyBot is a Raspberry Pi based plotter you can build. Because it's driven by Linux, it comes with an advanced software stack to make it easy to use along with a couple of novel features.
It is Wifi enabled and web controlled. It will span its own WiFi network when no known networks are in range. It can be controlled remotely via the website plottybot.mandalagaba.com. And it has a "handwriting typewriter" mode.
I created very detailed build instructions: PlottyBot Build Instructions
The instructions are meant to remove the numerous obstacles I encountered refining this machine over the years.
