The Plaza of the Americas is a multi building complex that sites two 25 story towers on the north and south ends of the block, a hotel on the west end of the block, and connecting them is a large multi story atrium with an ice skating rink. Shops and restaurants surround the rink along with the buildings. The site is located in the northeast section of Downtown where the street grids are turned on a 45 degree angle. The two towers are turned on a 45 degree angle from the hotel and the atrium; therefore, the sides of the towers face in true directions. Each of the towers are clad in dark gray glass, with marble arched entries at the center of the facades. The hotel, atrium, and attached parking garage have a poured in place concrete exterior. Access to the Le Meridien Hotel is achieved through a drive up canopy on the southwest side of the structure or through the atrium. A third tower to the complex was constructed across Crockett Street in 1983, and it is a different architectural style from the original development. That tower has been named the Allianz Financial Centre. The Plaza of the Americas is located at a DART Light Rail Station and is connected by skybridges to the Bryan Tower and the Adam's Mark Hotel. Both office towers are 332 feet high and are tied as the 37th tallest buildings in the city. The Le Meridien Hotel is 15 stories. Google Earth Ready.
