This is my little contribution to the 'fan-art' group. To the gamers of the nineties, you should recognise this! It's the original playstation of the nineties era, with classics including Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Vagrant Story amongst others! The boot-up logo of this thing is still my favourite startup for the consoles, they've mostly been a bitmehsince.I wanted to create something 'classic' with a degree of nostalgia to it, and I decided to go with this. Finding reference images for this unit were quite hard to find and I didn't have a spare PS1 lying around unfortunately, and I couldn't purchase one through lack of funds (even though they are rediculously cheap these days). There were reference images lying around on Google, but they were all angled and approximating and guesstimating proved a little difficult. I stumbled upon a front image of just the ports and the top from Ebay from someone's photograph (from selling it)! They're not included for copyright reasons. For animation purposes, you can open and close the lid, spin the CD (which is untextured in this model), the CD spindle itself and the lens. You do each by manipulating the according empties. You can also set the light on or off by turning the EMIT value the materials properties up or down. When you receive the file it's set to 0.0 so you can turn it to 1.0 if you wish.I've modified the file slightly for preview purposes which include shrinking the camera down, adjusting the lights and changing the sky colour to blue. When you receive the file however they'll all be set to defaults.Just keep in mind if you wish to use this for commercial reasons that this product, although fairly old, will still be copyrighted and / or trademarked by Sony. You should therefore assume an 'all-rights-reserved' for this file if you wish to use it for anything (especially where the logos and the general design are concerned). That aside, any comments and criticism is welcomed! I'm aware my texturising skills leave a lot to be desired (and is something I'm developing), but any thoughts would help. Any comments on the general topology would be helpful as well (the areas around the buttons proved particularly difficult).Latest Change on 2014/04/05, 10:45:33Description.
